THE SLIDES
I've always wondered what components make up who I am. So I combined what I consider the four most important parts of the body, inspired by the scene in the movie 'The Cell' where a horse is sliced with transparent glass and the transparent slides used in laboratories for microscopic observation.
This artwork uses laser cutting technology to print my hand-drawn components on four separate transparent acrylic panels. The wooden base, which I hand-cut, is designed to support the acrylic panels. When viewed from the side, it reveals that "I" am composed of many pieces. However, from the front, these parts come together to form a cohesive, three-dimensional, and intricate "me."
